Li Yiyi, female, native of Suzhou, Jiangsu, member of the Communist Party of China, scientist in metallurgy and metal materials, was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1993. In 1999 he was elected as a member of the Third World Academy of Sciences. From 1990 to 1998, he was re-elected as the director of the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She has long served as the vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Metals, the vice chairman of the Chinese Materials Research Society, the vice chairman, chairman and honorary chairman of the Liaoning Science and Technology Association, the fourth, fifth, and sixth members and standing members of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Deputy Director, member of the Presidium of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and representative of the 14th and 15th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. He is currently the honorary chairman of the Chinese Association of Science and Technology and the Liaoning Province Association of Science and Technology, a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Society of Metals, a member of the International Society of Low Temperature Materials, the chairman of the Academic Committee of the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the chairman of the Academic Degrees Committee.
Academician Li Yiyi is the main academic leader in the field of low temperature and nuclear structural materials in China. He has presided over four five-year plans for national scientific and technological research projects, completed five strength-resistant steel series, and is responsible for alloy composition design, heat treatment and phase identification. And put forward scientific ideas, technical lines and organization and implementation. Currently mainly engaged in special alloy preparation and large-scale casting and forging process and computer simulation.
For the macro segregation and central defects of large forgings, Academician Li Yiyi proposed the metal forming technology for the first time in the world. This technology broke through the limitations of the concept of "big system and large system" for large forgings. After surface processing, cleaning treatment, stack forming and vacuum encapsulation, a forging and welding process featuring multi-directional forging at high temperature is applied to fully heal the interface and achieve a "markless" connection between the interface and the substrate. It provides a new way to effectively eliminate internal looseness and improve segregation and organization in large-scale forgings of nuclear power.

Academician Li Yiyi affirmed Beixiang Heavy Industry Group's exquisite forging process, the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the great achievements of research and development.
After friendly consultations between the two parties, Academician Li Yiyi intends to transform and implement the achievements in metal forming technology at Beixiang Heavy Industry. The two parties focused on nuclear power, hydrogenation reactor ring cylinders, low-temperature engineering shafts, and die steel large forgings, and jointly developed related process technologies to meet the strategic needs of the country while promoting enterprise leapfrog development and leading the core of high-end equipment. The development of key component manufacturing technologies sets a model for the deep transformation and upgrading of the domestic forging industry and product structure.
